✓ POTUS pleases himself praising law enforcement officials and emergency responders (probably forgetting that this is their jobs regardless of the circumstances) and,unfortunately, often neglecting to talk about the victims and their families. He definitely has a strong penchant to superlatively accuse the misguided mentally disturbed perpetrators thus avoiding the essence of the real problem.

✓ According to Global News Canada since the beginning of 2018 (in 23 days) there have been 11 shootings in US schools alone. At that rate there could be as many as 175 school shootings in the USA. If I were a parent, under similar threats, I would seriously think of home schooling (at least for the younger kids).

◦ Some lawmakers think that the solution to gun violence is to put firearms into the hands of more and more people. Besides promoting gun sales it will also promote the sale of bulletproof vests, backpacks and whatever protective devices available on the market. The sale of metal detectors for schools, armed law enforcement in school hallways, teachers with firearms and eventually all students could be armed (why not, everyone else will be armed) will be the end result of this folly. It will be the Wild West 2.0. Just wait till the lawmakers upgrade to Wild West 3.0…more potent, more destructive and a financial Eldorado for the NRA.

✓ Plastic here, plastic there, plastic everywhere. More and more products are made from plastic today. Plastic is relatively light, quite strong, easily molded, etc…quick money for corporations. The major problem is how do we dispose of it after use since very little is recycled. A deposit on bottles is only but one solution and it doesn’t guarantee that the bottles will really be recycled. Wax worms could do part of the job but would they be able to cover all grades of plastic. I think it is time for all of us to wake up before it is too late. There are more solutions out there but we have to find the will to realize them.

✓ Unfortunately many managers and supervisors think they know it all and for them employees are simply doers. Wake up you “know it all’s” your employees have great ideas and you should take that into consideration!

So why not simply keep regular cash registers open, more often than not it is actually quicker and it saves jobs. There are people who don’t eat this or that for personal reasons, there are those who can’t eat this or that for health reasons and there are those who won’t eat this or that for religious reasons. ✓ Il y a des gens qui sont heureux de ce dénouement; il y en a d’autres qui condamnent ce qui se passe. Mais le vrai visage de tout cela est qu’il y aura toujours des victimes innocentes qui vont payer la note et qui ne défrayeront pas les manchettes et les vrais coupables resteront impunis.
